Djinn
The seven pillars lay eroded and broken, half sunk in the drifted sand which sloped down to the
frothing edges of a crimson river glinting dully as its path twisted through the ruins. Here and there small dark shapes
appeared to rise from and then sink into its viscous surface, while others remained still except for
their dreadful progress on the clotted current that flowed slowly homeward.
